TYPE

Definition

Type, n.. A whole that links to a base idea and a whole or other type.

Comments

A type has only two parts. Thus a given type associates its base idea with a whole which may also be a type, and which also is the abstract meaning of its own base idea. And so the base idea of the given type is associated with the abstract meaning of another base idea. The base idea that a type joins directly to is called a symbol because the type’s other part models the symbol’s meaning. If the other part of the given type is a whole that is not another type, then the structure of that given type can be called a seed type, for it is the first type in a potential type-chain. See Table 8, Symbol & Type.
