SUBORDINATION

Subordination, n.. The relation of a given idea or structure to a given idea that knows it.

See lower. By this definition subordinate, or lower, ideas are known by their higher ideas but not inversely, for know link-mode is directional; thus neither a part of a given whole nor the parts of such a part knows that whole, and neither a symbol nor a subordinate type knows its higher type.
